Who we are
The formation of the Kenya National Oceanographic Data Center (KeNODC) was formally adopted by the National Oceanographic Committee on the 20th August 1996 in Nairobi at the Kenya National Commission for UNESCO.
KeNODC is part of the network of International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange (IODE) data centers. The aim of the Data Center in to promote research and management of Kenya's coastal resources by providing various types of support to policy makers, resource managers, researchers, educational institutions, NGO's and private companies on matters of oceanographic data and information source.
The committee comprising of the government agencies elected Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI) as the host institution.
